Do alcoholic beverages require Kosher certification for Passover?

Alcoholic beverages must bear [Kosher-for-Passover] certification to be used for Passover.  There are numerous issues involving what the alcohol is made from, the equipment it is produced in, and the fermentation process itself.  We encourage all Kosher consumers to find alcoholic beverages with reliable [kosher-for-passover] certification or to abstain for the eight days of Passover.

Passover
A Biblically mandated early-spring festival celebrating the Jewish exodus from Egypt in the year 1312 BCE.
Kosher
Literally means "fit." Commonly used to describe foods which are permitted by Jewish dietary laws, but is also used to describe religious articles (such as a Torah scroll or Sukkah) which meet the requirements of Jewish law.
