Is it permitted to go shopping on Chol Hamoed?

Buying is prohibited only when it is business related or if the item is being bought for after Yom Tov. It is permitted to buy a personal item (or pay admission to an attraction) if it is for the sake of enjoying Chol Hamoed or Yom Tov.

(lit. "mundane [days] of the festival"), the intermediate days of the Festivals of Passover and Sukkot. On these days many of the holiday work restrictions are lifted.
