But you can drop you car off on Friday afternoon and ask for it to be done by Monday morning. If the mechanic did it on Shabbat, it was his choice, because he just as easily could have done it on Sunday (assuming that fixing the car was a one-day job). Therefore, even if he fixed it on Shabbat, you can pay him expressly for the service rendered.
