I am going to Shabbat dinner at our rabbi's home; Is it disrespectful to wear pants?

I think it would be safe to apply the concept of “when in Rome do as the Romans” to this situation, and wear a skirt/dress. I say this both out of respect for your hosts, and so that you will feel more comfortable while there.

This is the ideal; if, however, this is difficult for you, and assuming that your host knows quite well that you don’t have the same standards as her, I don’t think it will be an issue if you come as you are.
