G-d wants us to serve Him with joy. If that is what He demands of us, obviously He gave us the wherewithal to accomplish this.

The most troubling thing that a person encounters is doubts. Am I doing the right thing or not? Am I accomplishing anything? What does G-d want of me? In Hebrew there is a saying, "There is no happiness like the resolution of doubts."

When a person dedicates their life to doing what G-d wants, i.e. Torah and Mitzvahs, the doubts vanish. You know that you are on the right path, you are accomplishing and fulfilling your mission on this World.

I highly advise that you find someone to teach you chapters 26, 27, 28 and 31 of Tanya. They will help you immensely. (If you cannot find a qualified teacher, I recommend that you buy Lessons in Tanya. Available at www.kehotonline.com).

Torah
Torah is G–d’s teaching to man. In general terms, we refer to the Five Books of Moses as “The Torah.” But in truth, all Jewish beliefs and laws are part of the Torah.
Tanya
Foundation text of Chabad chassidism. Authored by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of the Chabad movement, and first published in 1796. Considered to be the "Bible" of Chassidism.
G-d
It is forbidden to erase or deface the name of G-d. It is therefore customary to insert a dash in middle of G-d's name, allowing us to erase or discard the paper it is written on if necessary.
