Learning Torah in general and, in particular, its inner aspect, Kabbalah, with the proper intentions brings a person to higher and higher consciousness of the awesome, loving, all-encompassing goodness of G-d. Who could hold back their extreme joy at such awareness?! To be a part in G-d’s plan for Creation, given an opportunity to affect rectification of our souls and the world at large, is certainly cause for celebration!

According to the mystical tradition of the Chassidism, the primary mission of the spiritual forces that oppose holiness is to make a person depressed. Once in a state of depression, whether a person realizes it or not, a person is in the dominion of those energies and is thus very vulnerable to their influence.

The trick is to never fall into that trap. If necessary, put on some of your favorite (happy) music, treat yourself to some of your favorite (Kosher) food, or even listen to a silly joke. The domain of happiness is the gateway to holiness. And with increased connection to G-d comes greater and greater levels of supreme joy.

Torah
Torah is G–d’s teaching to man. In general terms, we refer to the Five Books of Moses as “The Torah.” But in truth, all Jewish beliefs and laws are part of the Torah.
Kosher
Literally means "fit." Commonly used to describe foods which are permitted by Jewish dietary laws, but is also used to describe religious articles (such as a Torah scroll or Sukkah) which meet the requirements of Jewish law.
Kabbalah
Jewish mysticism. The word Kaballah means "reception," for we cannot physically perceive the Divine, we merely study the mystical truths which were transmitted to us by G-d Himself through His righteous servants.
G-d
It is forbidden to erase or deface the name of G-d. It is therefore customary to insert a dash in middle of G-d's name, allowing us to erase or discard the paper it is written on if necessary.
