Why Doesn't G-d Always Do What We Want

When I was growing up I had that same question about my parents - why don't they do what I want?

Now that I am a parent I understand that there are some things that a parent does - which would be very hard for a child to understand.

If that is the case between two human beings - a parent and child - how much more impossible for us - mere humans - to understand our Infinite Creator?!

Or to put it differently - if we could understand G-d, would He really be G-d?
