Rabbi Dov Mandel: Welcome. I'll be with you in a moment...

Jonothan: what is humility?

Rabbi Dov Mandel: You have come to the right place

Rabbi Dov Mandel: For I am the most humble of all

Jonothan: very nice

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Just kidding ;-)

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Humility is the sense of awareness that we are simply a combination of body and soul with a mission and that all of our great accomplishments are really just gifts from G-d there is therefore no reason to hold oneself higher than others

Rabbi Dov Mandel: This doesn't mean that you shouldn't be aware of your capabilities and use them

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Rather you should recognize that they are all G-d given

Rabbi Dov Mandel: And aren't there because you are somehow greater than everyone else

Jonothan: Thanks. How about the great accomplishments of great people, aren’t they very hard earned or even the results of heroic struggle?

Rabbi Dov Mandel: They are

Rabbi Dov Mandel: But being humble is still not feeling that you are better than others

Jonothan: so how can they avoid being arrogant? And on the other hand how can people who lack accomplishment not feel inferior?

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Whether you feel good or inferior has nothing to do with your accomplishments

Rabbi Dov Mandel: There are people with great accomplishments who feel inferior

Jonothan: why?

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Because they have self esteem issues

Rabbi Dov Mandel: If you have a healthy self esteem you feel good whether you have accomplished in life or not

Jonothan: I appreciate the time and patience you gave me. All the Best!

Rabbi Dov Mandel: Same to you

G-d
It is forbidden to erase or deface the name of G-d. It is therefore customary to insert a dash in middle of G-d's name, allowing us to erase or discard the paper it is written on if necessary.
