Can I eat in a vegan restaurant which has no kosher certification?

Here is a partial list of issues that can arise even in a vegan restaurant:

Non-Kosher wine can be an ingredient.

Many common vegetables need to be checked for tiny insects.

Any pots, dishes, flatware and ovens that were ever used for the preparation of non-kosher food, will make any kosher food prepared in them non-kosher as well.

Kosher
Literally means "fit." Commonly used to describe foods which are permitted by Jewish dietary laws, but is also used to describe religious articles (such as a Torah scroll or Sukkah) which meet the requirements of Jewish law.
