Rabbi Nosson: Welcome. I'll be with you in a moment...

fred: Is the Barramundi fish kosker?

Rabbi Nosson: It has fins and scales, doesn't it?

Rabbi Nosson: here's a link http://www.crcweb.org/kosher/consumer/fishList.html

fred: yes, I wondered if it was a bottom feeder?

Rabbi Nosson: This is a common misconception. Being a bottom feeder does not make a fish unkosher.

Rabbi Nosson: As a matter of fact, gefillte fish is traditionally made from white fish and carp, both bottom feeders.

fred: OK, thank you I did not know that.
