Does vodka require certification?

The OU’s position is that all domestic unflavored vodkas are distilled in the same traditional manner which does not present any Kashrut issues.

Flavored Vodkas require certification.

Vodkas distilled from grapes require certification as there is a stam yayin (wine handled by a non-Jew, see "What makes wine Kosher?") issue.  Vodkas distilled from milk also present concerns. The bottle should state that it is a grape or milk based product.
