Tekiah, shevarim, teruah. A tekiah is one long blast1 ; a shever is a set of three short blasts; a teru’ah is a set of nine rapid blasts.

Footnotes

  • 1. The entire series of shofar blasts concludes with a "tekiah gedolah" -- a "long tekiah."
