Message from the Rebbe

The Torah is seamless. "Its beginning is lodged in its end, and its end in its beginning."1

The last letter of the Torah is a Lamed. The first letter is a Beit. When we fuse its end to its beginning we form the word Lev; Heart.

The Lamed is from the word Yisroel; The Jewish People. The Bet is from the word Breishit; Creation.

The unity of the Torah creates a unity in the heart of the Jewish people.

Producing a physical letter in the Torah is a tangible manifestation of our innate oneness with the Torah and each other.

Our letter connects our soul to the Torah, and through it to the souls of every other Jewish soul connected to that Torah, and through it to the souls of every Jewish soul connected to every Torah in existence.

The Zohar2 recounts: G-d looked into the Torah and [from it] created the world.

Our letter in the Torah, in the source of life, serves as a conduit for vitality, blessings, and security for all the days of our lives.

Don’t be satisfied with your own letter, your own connection. Connect other Jews and present them with an opportunity to own their own letter.

One letter. One Torah. One People.

Torah
Torah is G–d’s teaching to man. In general terms, we refer to the Five Books of Moses as “The Torah.” But in truth, all Jewish beliefs and laws are part of the Torah.
Zohar
The most basic work of Jewish mysticism. Authored by Rabbi Shimeon bar Yochai in the 2nd century.
Rebbe
A Chassidic master. A saintly person who inspires followers to increase their spiritual awareness.
Lubavitcher
One who follows the teachings of the Chassidic group which was formerly based in the Belarus village of Lubavitch. Today, the movement is based in Brooklyn, New York with branches worldwide. The Lubavitch movement is also widely known as "Chabad."
G-d
It is forbidden to erase or deface the name of G-d. It is therefore customary to insert a dash in middle of G-d's name, allowing us to erase or discard the paper it is written on if necessary.
